A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT

This was a great start to the Writer's Apprentice cozy mystery series. Having enjoyed reading gothic suspense when I was young, I related to Lena's fascination with author Camilla Graham who was loosely based on the late Mary Stewart. The story featured well developed and quirky characters in the small town of Blue Lake, Indiana. I especially liked the antics of Lestrade, Lena's cat who accompanied her when she took the job as Graham's assistant. There were lots of red herrings and clues to the murder that a reader might miss but that were obvious when explained. I also liked the second twist at the end but was slightly disappointed it included a cliffhanger. Looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series. The book is in our paperback section, [Rack] MD Fic Buckley.
