All Systems Red is the first of 5 installments of the "Murderbot Diaries". A novella narrated by a cyborg security unit who has hacked his governor module, the self-styled Murderbot. Murderbot is pretty good at killing things, but he really would rather watch movies or read a book. Stuck on a distant planet with a team of scientists who have no idea their SecUnit is self-aware, Murderbot must begrudgingly work with and protect this team of human scientists. "I would die to save these humans but I would also die if I have to talk to them".
